Description

This guidance considers recent reviews of relevant Government and Regulator guidance as well societal trends with regards to the status of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The updated version of the SafetyOn/RUK Guidance regarding Procedures and Protocols for COVID-19still places emphasis on organisational and personal responsibility but highlights Omicron as the new variant with a higher level of transmission.

It is important that duty holders remain cautious, pragmatic, and dynamic in approach. The health, safety and wellbeing of employees and others must continue to be the primary focus of organisations when considering working arrangements. Employers need to consider compliance fatigue and are therefore asked to reiterate the message.

The update includes encouragement for the booster on top of vaccination and mentions working from home where possible. It also makes reference to the self-isolation exemption currently in place for critical personnel in Scotland.
